INdian Cricketer Anil Kumble adopted a king cobra at Adopt an Animal, a two-month-long animal adoption awareness drive on Wednesday.Kumble, who is now the vice-chairman of the Karnataka State Board for Wildlife, also assured that he would do more to encourage others to adopt animals."I have decided to adopt a king cobra. Not for any particular reason, though. I don't know why Rahul (Dravid), who has also expressed interest in king cobras, does not adopt one. I have come with a cheque. I am interested in adopting an elephant too. And I hope to motivate others to adopt animals too,"sayd Kumble."No amount of support is enough for this wonderful cause and adopting an animal is a great way to enrich your life. You will also contribute something back to nature," he added.Kumble handed over a cheque for Rs.25,000 to the park authorities though the amount listed for adoption of cobra was just Rs.2,500."It ranges from Rs.750 to Rs.1.75 lakh for adopting an animal for a year.
