ComCom tells Vodafone to name its MTR terms

The Commerce Commission has asked Vodafone to prepare a proposal for cutting mobile calls and text messages. The proposal comes as a measure to specifically name the services related to the non-price terms and conditions where the mobile termination services shall come in handy for both the mobile and fixed line operators. It is said that the charges for the mobile termination access services will be mentioned by the Commission. In regard of this measure the steps begun yesterday itself and the first part of the process was commenced in the form of a workshop for teleco firms and other related parties. Vodafone will be asked to submit the standard terms of proposal by 5pm, on November 5th. Soon after which the commission will seek for submissions before releasing a draft in same manner. The release of draft will soon be carried forward with Commission’s engagement ahead of industry consultation with respect to standard terms in view of documents released towards 2011 March end.
