Barack Obama supports India on UNSC seat

In a surprising move the US president, Barack Obama, has said that the US would support India for becoming a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council.
Addressing the Indian parliament, Obama said that India, which is the largest democracy, has all the qualifications to become the permanent member.
But analysts say that this is more of a gesture rather than a firm commitment from the US.
However this statement is significant since this is the first positive statement by a US president regarding this issue.
Even if US were to give full support to India, it can only become a permanent member in not less than 5-10 years.
